An eight-table Howell was in play on Wednesday, February 18. It was one of those evenings when two-thirds of the players cracked the 50 per cent barrier. Winners were: 1. Mairi Rees and Margaret Day 61.46 per cent; 2. Cindy Middleton and Kevin Thomas 57.99; 3. Jill and John O'Sullivan 56.94; 4. Margaret Davies and Newman Vincent 55.21; 5. Nicky Hancock and Peter Oeppen 54.86.
One couple, Jean Pollard and Ashleigh Scrimshaw, scored exactly 50 per cent and were rewarded with a pen each, kindly donated by Jill and John O'Sullivan as a form of encouragement which is greatly appreciated by all.
