Wednesday, December 10, saw the annual Christmas dinner which was another success, to the delight of all.

The free draw prizes went down very well and winners were Eileen Dowling, Joy Hadlow, Coral Jones, Lindsay Radion, Sue Batten, Sue Enfield and Carmel Wiseman.

The random sweepstake was won by 'Mags', Margaret Davies, which she generously turned into drinks all round.  The individual bridge, which followed the meal, was good fun, but tough.

Winners were: 1. Peter Oeppen; 2. Eric Hartland; 3. Bill Glynn. Strongest in the room was Bridget Phillips, winning a large bottle of champagne.

Timetable for bridge over the festive period as agreed by all, except Bert Barnikel!

The last game is tonight (Friday). The club recommences on Wednesday, January 7.

Tina Torkington, chairman of the club, thanks her management team and  wishes all members a very happy Christmas, with good luck and good health in 2009.

Results, Friday, December 12: The club's doughty regulars turned up in the foulest of weather to everyone's delight.  Winners: 1. Jill and John O'Sullivan 71.43 per cent; 2. Joy and Mike Whitelock 54.76; 3. Gladys Irvine and Bert Barnikel 54.17.

Duplicate bridge is played twice weekly at the Kilgetty Community Centre, Wednesday at 7 pm and Friday at 6.30 pm.

New members and visitors are always welcome.
