Last week's meeting of the Tenby and District Camera Club at St. Florence Village Hall was a mini competition on the subject of monochrome.
This was followed by a talk and demonstration on strobe lighting and flash photography by the chairman Roy Packer, who was ably assisted by Paul Richards.
There was a good selection of digital images for members to consider in the monochrome competition, and everyone had the chance to vote on the images, with marks from one to five.
After some very exciting voting, the winners emerged: in joint third place, Weston by Paul Deverson and Dirty Old Town by Roy Packer; in joint second place Mud Runner by Roy Packer and Thunder Cloud by Ray Hornett; and in first place Amroth by Paul Deverson.
After a break for refreshments, Roy and Paul conducted an excellent demonstration on strobe lighting and different methods with flash photography. Everyone enjoyed the display and lots of members commented that they had learnt something new.
The next meeting will be a talk by one of the club's own members, Roy Peters, on producing audio visual shows using ProShow Gold.
Newsflash!
At Talbot Green last Sunday, one of Tenby Camera Club members, Dave Bolton has been awarded his Associate of the Welsh Photographic Federation distinction at the assessment day. There were 19 panels submitted for consideration, and only eight were chosen. Dave's was one, and he is now an AWPF. The panel consisted of sports photographs of rugby players.
