Last week's meeting at St. Florence Village Hall was a show given by a good friend to the club, Les Loosemore ARPS, AWPF, with his wonderful slides of Kenya.

The show was entitled 'Kenya Unplanned' and the pictures were impromptu studies of the people, places and animals of Kenya.

With a backing of very atmospheric music by Terry Oldfield, the slides ranged from the beaches and street scenes of Mombassa, to the streets of Nairobi and on to the Masai Mara and Tsavo East National Parks.

With excitingly close-up views of hippopotamus, blue wildebeest, elephant, and lion, as well as the bird life and other wildlife, the show portrayed the atmosphere and life of a fascinating country.

After a break for refreshments, the show recommenced. Not a word was spoken by the author, but the pictures spoke for themselves. Everyone agreed that they had enjoyed a fantastic show, and plied Mr. Loosemore with questions, which he was delighted to answer.

Next week's meeting will be a mini competition, based on the recent studio night. Everyone is asked to bring one digital image on a CD. There will also be an in-house workshop about the Welsh Photographic Federation Salons and what entrants need to produce in order to be accepted.
