Results from Tenby and District Angling Club's matches during June were as follows: June 3 - dinghy match: Two boats were available to fish the next match in the club's dinghy series. 'Calypso' and 'Serenity II' searched hard within the bay for fish in less than ideal conditions and eventually recorded eight different species. Top boat species and points wise was 'Serenity II', with seven species and 45 points, respectively. However, 'Calypso' also excelled, with skipper Bob Willing landing a 4 kg Starry Smooth hound to take heaviest fish and break a club record which had stood for 13 years! Nice one Bob! June 17 - dinghy match: This time, four boats were out looking for the 'deadliest catch'! Conditions again could have been better, but improved as the day progressed. No snow and ice, but a good dousing of summer drizzle made things miserable to start. However, after a slow beginning for many anglers, 13 species were eventually checked off at the finish at the Mayor's Slip. Heaviest fish was again Bob 'Bubbles' Willing with a tope of 15.89kg. 'Serenity II' again bagged the most species and points, with 10 species and 76 points, respectively. A good haul for Idris Williams and Mike Bradshaw. Next match is a shore competition at Pendine tomorrow (Saturday), fishing from 6 to 10 pm. All anglers please note that it is intended to go up the beach for this mach, so you will need to be booked in by 5.15 pm at the latest for the opportunity to fish in peace!
