Ian Lawrence won the prestigious All Winners Masters Tournament, to which entry is limited to those who have won during the past year, on Sunday, September 23.
It was a birdie three on the 15th which clinched it for Lawrence, whose 34 points off the white tees was one better than Mike Ansell and Barry Thorne.
Ansell finished runner-up on countback, thanks largely to a storming finish of birdie, par for seven points on the last two, but he had left it just too late to pip his regular playing partner for the trophy.
This weekend, Lawrence bids to add the Trefloyne Order of Merit to his trophy cabinet. A good round in tomorrow's monthly medal, the final qualifying event, should just about see the current leader home, although there are several others in with a very good chance.
Caroline Fletcher was the Ladies' All Winners Champion, finishing with 39 points, well clear of Sue Shooter, 30, and Glenda Pearce, 28.
Steve Wedlake won the bogey competition on Saturday, September 22, finishing one up against the course. Mel Beeley and Tom Pollock were second and third respectively, both finishing all square.
The Tuesday stableford on September 25 was won by Barry Thorne with 35. Roger Cryer was second with 34, and Mike Ansell third with 32.
Trefloyne Seniors enjoyed probably their best win of the season on Thursday, September 27 when they entertained a strong Tenby team and came out 7-2 winners. Clearly, home advantage played a part, but it was a very good performance, especially with regular Seniors Captain Graham Wharton absent.
Roger Thompson thrived on the responsibility of leading the team and won the top match, with Mike Kemp, by a resounding 7 and 5 margin. Brian Cowley and Dennis Busby won 2 up, but with Brian Norman and Tom Fletcher losing 5 and 4, and Phil Jenkinson and Pat Corcoran going down 3 and 2, the match seemed nicely balanced at 2 points each.
The last five Trefloyne pairs were in cracking form, however, and won all the remaining points, no doubt surprising themselves even more than the visitors. George King and Chic Brown won 3 and 2, as did Roger Cryer and David Owen, whilst Barry Thorne and Paul Griffiths won 6 and 4. John Cliff and John Smith had a 2 and 1 win, and the final point was claimed by Eddie Houlahan and Bob Burks, 4 and 3.
Ben Edwards posted the best score in the final week of the Trefloyne Junior Summer League, scoring a fine 41 points. Richard Thomas also played well, scoring 38 points.
After eight weeks of play, with each Junior counting his best six cards, Tom Hilling emerged the clear winner with 223 points, an average of just over 37 per round. Daniel Brace was second with 203 and Ashley Evans third with 201. Well done to Tom, Daniel and Ashley, and also to the many others who took part but finished outside the top three.
Members are asked to note that the Trefloye Annual Dinner will be held on Friday, December 7 at the Park Hotel, Tenby. Details will be circulated in due course.
