Well-known Tenby entertainer Laurie Dale received a surprise 'phone recently all the way from America!

The call was from ex-pat Keith Taylor-Sharpe who amazingly had heard an interview with Laurie and BBC Radio Wales presenter Jamie Owen while on his way to work.

Laurie and his record shop Dales has appeared on the BBC website as one of the five most unusal record shops in the country as part of a feature on how music-buying habits have changed.

As a result, he was interviewed by Jamie Owen for his radio show

Keith, who was brought up in Tenby - his parents running The Tatler Restaurant - heard the programme and rang Laurie to tell him how pleased he was to hear a familiar voice.

Keith will be remembered for opening a hairdressing salon where Christopher and Christine's is today. He then moved to London to work for Vidal Sassoon which took him to the States where he now runs his own business.

"Keith used to spend a lot of time with us in the shop, so much so in fact that he was almost one of the family," said Laurie.

"I was stunned he had heard the programme and thrilled he phoned me to tell me."
