This year’s Big Spring Beach Clean is shaping up to be the biggest ever - with areas of Pembrokeshire to play their part next month.

Organisation ‘Surfers Against Sewage’ have vowed not just to clean up local beaches, mountains, rivers and communities - but also collect evidence of which corporations are the worst offenders when it comes to plastic pollution.

The evidence from the Beach Clean events is then used to demand an end to plastic pollution for good.

More than 30,000 people took part last year.

Paul Renfro, Volunteer Regional Rep for Surfers Against Sewage said: “Beach cleans are a great way to raise awareness of the problems that plastics can cause.

“Building the evidence on worst polluters helps us work with these sectors to make a difference at source.”

21 April A beach clean will be held at Amroth, on April 21 at 11am, with other dates for the area next month as follows: 6 April 6 - Newgale (3-5 pm); April 7 - Freshwater West (11 am); Goodwick (3 pm).

If plastic pollution makes you sick, this is the perfect chance to do something about it, and have fun at the same time!

If you take part, it will make a big difference on the day of the event - but much more than that, the evidence you gather will help tackle the problem at source.

‘Surfers Against Sewage’ will collate the evidence from hundreds of Beach Clean events and share what they find with the media, politicians and big business, and use it to demand action - less plastic produced to begin with and better recycling facilities.
