The Friends of South Pembs Hospital are continually being uplifted by the generosity of the public.

Several fund-raising events have taken place recently, but the most important one for this year will happen tomorrow (Saturday), from 2 to 4.30 pm, in the Cleddau River Day Unit and the gardens. Margaret Barnaby, the director of planning for Hywel Dda NHS Trust will open the event.

Jamie Owen, the patron of the Friends, unfortunately cannot attend because of his radio commitments, but has already sent his best wishes and hopes everyone has an enjoyable time.

The stallholders are many and varied in both the charity and business fields. To name a few - there will be clothes, cards of all sorts, one local nursery which is helping to maintain the gardens at the hospital, prints and pictures, jewellery, oriental heritage, souvenirs, candles, patchwork, and stalls for the children. The clients who regularly attend the day care centre are busy making craft items.

The Friends themselves will run the grand raffle and three other stalls, as well as providing refreshments.

Children and people of all age groups will find something of interest. It is also an opportunity to see round the day care centre and meet some of the many people who enjoy attending and participating in the many activities which are on offer every weekday.
