Confusion over a street name in Tenby has been cleared up after further investigation. Councillors and residents had been left baffled recently as to what signage should be displayed on the street running between Warren Street and Park Road. Pembrokeshire County Council recently erected a sign calling the street Penally Road, but some disagreed, thinking its original and correct name was Penally Hill. Following consultation between town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, and the county council, it seems that the sign that appears now for Penally Road is the correct name. Mr. Davies informed members of the town council at their meeting last week that he had looked at maps dating back to 1907 and discovered that the street was referred to as Penally Road. The county council are now to erect further signage at the top of the street on the Pembroke Hotel to confirm this.
