Fund-raisers from Kilgetty's Co-op store had their charitable hats and boots on last week as they embarked on two challenges to raise money for charity.

As part of the 'Wear It Pink' campaign, the fund-raisers raised money for the Breast Care Centre at the Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli, with first a sponsored walk from the store to Amroth and then last Friday the annual sponsored horse ride covering 17 miles from Kilgetty to Telpyn, near Amroth.

Riders who took part - Sue Phillips, Emily Phillips, Leanne Rogers, Helen Arthur and Dee Kent - all set off from Amroth Farm, before meeting at the Kilgetty Co-op at 10 am, where they were joined by walkers Charlotte Phillips, Christy Barker and Penny Eades. The fund-raisers were also accompanied on their journey by drivers, Gavin Phillips, Dana Rogers and Colin John on their journey.

They met fellow riders Heidi John and Sian Thorne along the way on a route which covered Stepaside, Ludchurch, Colby Woods, Amroth and Telpyn.

"It was very tiring, but well worth it, as always," said Sue, who would like to say a big thank you to family, friends and Co-op work colleagues for all their hard work in raising money for the charity.

So far, the total raised from both fund-raising challenges by the Co-op store has reached £1,370.
