Sir,

The years go by and we still await the 10-year plan for Tenby that will benefit the people of Tenby.

I see no sign of the plan emerging from the so-called town council. Three sites that could have improved amenities for the voters are awaiting plans, the Cottage Hospital site (the old one and the only Cottage Hospital), the communal hall for the senior citizens and the De Valence site.

The De Valence has had two sets of trustees - mainly councillors - who have achieved nothing. Certainly a 10-year plan now centres on selling the people's property to create yet another pub and or restaurant. The town clerk said that the council were not obliged to name the exact sum offered for the people's site and not obliged to ask the wishes of the people, I assume.

The modern version of democracy, as it appears in Tenby, does not appeal to many. I would plead with the true Tenby inhabitants to put the clock back and enjoy your town.

Ivor Jenkins,

Cheshire.
