Last Saturday's sunny September morning not only set the scene for the Steps2Health walk, but also added to the relaxed and social atmosphere when the large group joined the Ruby Wedding celebrations of walks leaders Barbara and Paul Morris at the end of the hour-long walk (writes B.S.).

As always, of course, our refreshments have to be earned by first partaking of our weekly walk! Leader Val Coates-Rees took us on an inland circular route along the golf links path, through Kiln Park to the filling station, back along Marsh Road to cut through Tudor Way to wend our way back to The Norton down the Narberth Road.

Our route ended at the home of Barbara and Paul where we were all made most welcome. The refreshments, including delicious celebration cake, were much appreciated and the warm weather meant that many could also sit out in the pleasant garden in the shade of gazebos.

A donation was made to Wales Air Ambulance and we all hope Barbara and Paul will walk many more miles together.

Their enthusiasm and dedication has certainly got a lot of Pembrokeshire people hooked on walking! Tomorrow (Saturday) there is a change to the diary date. So that we may all enjoy the colour, the spectacle and the music of the opening of Tenby Arts Festival, the walk will start, as usual, from outside Somerfield at 10.30 am and it will finish at the harbour where we will be able to watch the arrival of The Grand Parade with Samba Tawe etc. after it has wound its way through the town.

So walkers will be right at the hub of all the excitement with plenty to see and plenty of places for coffee, tea or lunch.
