Dyfed Powys Police are urging people to stay safe while they enjoy the festive season.
With the Christmas party season upon us, our towns will be getting busier with revellers.
Dyfed Powys Police are urging people to take some simple steps to help them keep safe and not to let their night be ruined by being a victim of crime.
Detective Sergeant Estelle Hopkin-Davies said: "We are urging everyone to take our advice, but are hoping women in particular take it on board.
"We want everyone to have a good time, but as people drink, they become less aware of potential dangers.
"Just doing simple things before you go out like making sure people know where you are going and ensuring you know how you are getting home before you go out can ensure you have a safe and enjoyable night out."
Other advice includes: always stay with your friends; never leave your drink unattended; you must not, under any circumstances, walk home alone; make sure you have enough money to get home or to 'phone; steer clear of trouble - if you see any trouble or suspect that it might be about to start - keep clear. The best thing you can do is to alert the police and keep away; walk purposefully and try to appear confident.
