The force was strong with Tenby Male Choir on Monday evening, when they were joined by an actor of the Star Wars films to entertain a blockbuster crowd at the resort's harbour. TV and film star Warwick Davis was in town filming for the second series of his ITV show Weekend Escapes which follows him and his family as they explore the best holiday destinations in the UK and champion the great British holiday. The actor, who has appeared in hit fantasy films such as Return of the Jedi and Willow, is already familiar with parts of Pembrokeshire, as he previously filmed scenes as Griphook the goblin for the final instalment in the multi-million pound Harry Potter series on Freshwater West beach. Warwick, who also starred in the cult horror film series Leprechaun, gave a golden perfomance with his son Harrison as they joined the choir for a rendition of 'Rachie' - a famous rousing Welsh song written by Caradog Roberts. "The production team wanted a Welsh theme and wondered if Warwick and his son Harrison could experience life in a Welsh male choir," explained Tenby Male Choir chairman Terry Evans. "The format was agreed and Warwick and Harrison would attend a rehearsal at the Tenby and County Club, our rehearsal venue, and follow it with a live performance at Tenby harbour. "The large audience cheered loudly after the final amen," he added. The actor who also appeared in the film version of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, travelled over to St. Davids earlier in the day for a spot of filming as part of an historical vikings re-enactment.
