In order to keep in contact with parents and the young people of the Benefice over the summer months, the clergy team at St. Mary's Church has held a number of events and informal get-togethers.

This week, a barbecue was held for all Youth Club members, Junior Choir and servers. An enjoyable time was had by everyone, with games as well as food.

Next week, for those who will be part of the On the way Confirmation group, there will be a get-together barbecue at the Rectory on Tuesday, September 2, from 2 - 4.30 pm. This will be an opportunity for the group to meet together before starting the 'on the way' course on September 7,

Advance notice: There will be a residential trip to Viney Hill Christian Adventure Centre in Gloucestershire from Thursday, October 29 - Sunday, November 1, the end of the half-term week.

This will be open to the Confirmation Group, Youth Group, choir and servers, but numbers are very limited, so a strict 'first come first served' policy will be operated (names to Michael or Marianne please).

The Benefice will subsidise the trip, but there will be a charge of £30 per child towards the overall cost.

Some additional adult help will also be needed on this trip, so please offer yourselves if you possibly can. These times with the youngsters are very tiring, but enormously rewarding.
