A speedboat was reported as being on fire off Waterwynch, near Tenby, on Saturday lunchtime.
Tenby's inshore lifeboat was launched following the call at approximately 1 pm.
The ILB was quickly on scene and found that the fire had been put out.
A crew member went aboard, checked that no first aid was necessary and isolated the battery before attaching a tow.
The disabled vessel was towed back to Saundersfoot where the coastguard were waiting to take details.
