The chair of Tenby in Bloom has been busy fundraising for the town’s floral credentials over the summer.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, In Bloom chair, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, said that she had raised £740 when attending Tenby Round Table’s Summer Spectacular events in August.
“I’d like to thank the Round Tablers for allowing me to fundraise during both their events - the money will go towards the Tenby In Bloom cause, after we had to dip into our own coffers to fund a new fence for the Gilroy Phillips Gardens damaged during last year’s storms, which cost the organisation £3,000,” she explained.
“I’d also like to thank everybody that entered the Tenby in Bloom competition this year and for supporting us once again - the gardens were fantastic to visit, and we had a very good response from all the schools for the poster competition once again.”
