Tenby AFC's well attended three-day Gordon Hill Professional Soccer School proved to be a much enjoyed and successful event and even a bit of rain on the weekend could not dampen the enthusiasm of the many players and coaches.

Gordon, the former Manchester United and England wing wizard, had excellent interaction with his young charges, and was very ably supported by Tenby's own Deryn Brace (former Wrexham, Norwich City and Wales Under 21 player) and special guest coach, former Tranmere player, Chris Malkin, who thoroughly enjoyed his first visit to Tenby.

At the end of the three days, Gordon Hill, the newly installed manager of Chester City, presented Chester City replica kits to the coaches' 'players of the soccer school'.

They were Young Player of the Soccer School, Elliott Scotcher (aged seven) and Owen Richards (six); Older Player of the School, Alex Durrall and James Williams, both 13-years-old.

Chester City sweatshirts were presented to the Most Improved Player, Christopher Williams, an American on holiday (aged 11), and also to Declan Carroll and Ciaran Broomhead, both aged eight, for scoring the best goals.

Ten players also received medals for outstanding commitment. They were Chloe Richards (8) - the only girl attending, together with Luke Hicks (8), Alex Bailey (7), Daniel Bates (9), Rhys Bates (8), Greg Palin (7), Iwan Izzard (7), Charlie Roberts (11), Robert Luly (7) and Aaron Roberts (8).

Gordon and his fellow coaches thoroughly enjoyed the event, and together with Tenby AFC, are already looking forward to putting on another soccer school next year.

The club would like to sincerely thank all players and parents for their support, and also much appreciate the support of Gary Helmich, of the Broadmead Hotel, and Mr. Graham Fry, of the Royal Gate House Hotel, for sponsoring the meals and accommodation for the coaches.
