Plans by local councillors to look into situating a skate park at The Clicketts site in Tenby have been scuppered.

Tenby councillors have been on the hunt for an ideal location to situate a park for skateboarders for a number of years and believed that ground next to the Clicketts overflow car park could be the answer.

However, Charles Davies, of the Clicketts Sports Association, has written to the town council to inform them that there is no space available next to the sports ground due to further development.

The town clerk, Mr. Andrew Davies, told members at their meeting on Tuesday evening that land they had seen back in June was not there anymore.

"They have since then built a training pitch for youngsters and also another rugby pitch," he said.

Clr. Mike Evans said that the Clicketts Sports Association were doing a wonderful job, with sometimes on a Thursday evening around 400 children down at the ground taking part in training activities.

Clr. Evans also believed that the Salterns site could be looked at again for a possible skate park.
