An unexpected beach-goer was discovered on Tenby's South Beach last Friday morning.

A grey seal pup, believed to be around four to five weeks old, was found on the sands by Paul Thomas, of Tenby.

Sue Shefford and her daughter Kate Evans, who were also out for an early stroll, reported the discovery to Sue's husband, Rob Shefford, who works as a volunteer for the Welsh Marine Life Rescue Centre in Milford Haven.

After Rob came down and assessed the seal pup, it was taken safely away by Terry Leadbetter, co-ordinator of the Rescue Centre, for further treatment.

The pup has been named Tsunami Thomas!
