Sir,

During a 'phone conservation with a friend in Cardiff, the problem of Tenby Cottage Hospital arose.

One reason mentioned for no beds there was Labour's health policy wasn't to open up a care-home (waiting list for beds at Tenby Hospital).

The free site offered by a retirement home - priority to its residents if they required hospital care (beds in hospital).

In any discussion about beds in the hospital, it would be a good idea to remind the Labour Party of its slim victory in the recent assembly elections (a few hundred votes) - suggestion, a modification in their health policy.

Any decision would be used by their opponents in the future.

I wrote to several groups regarding the picketing of the Assembly, but received a negative reply.

Labour members didn't want to tread on the party's toes. So I guess I will go it alone!

We can't blame Jane Hutt - she only carries out the Labour health policy.

It's a good idea to keep the best until last - none of the other major parties' health policies cater for care beds (care homes etc.) in any NHS hospital. So if they had been voted in, Tenby Cottage Hospital would still have lacked beds.

So its seems they support ideas as long as they don't have to carry them out.

All you get is scoring political points.
