A fascinating new display will be unveiled tomorrow (Saturday) at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery.

The museum's collections began in 1878 with a variety of natural history specimens and books, donated by local antiquarians and naturalists. A selection of these items has been chosen to depict the importance of biodiversity and environmental issues.

Some rare and beautifully hand-coloured illustrations are used to enhance the display. From spider crabs, freshwater mussels, brain coral and butterflies to botany, beetles and bubble shells, the viewer will find something to delight the eye and stimulate discussion.

The exhibition will be opened by Christian Baars from The National Museum of Wales who is the project manager for 'Linking Natural Science Collections in Wales'. The exhibition runs until March 23.
