The 25th Saundersfoot New Year's Day swim is fast approaching and this will be the third year that organisers, Saundersfoot Festivities, have produced a 'NYDS' polo shirt.
The two previous tops have been two-tone blue, but this year, they have decided to go with black and pink in recognition of the cancer related charities that are to be supported during 2009.
In the past, swimmers have been encouraged to 'spread the word' and to promote the swim and its causes by taking their 'NYDS' tops on their travels.
This year has been no different, with Mr. Julian Taylor, of Sydney, Australia, being seen in the grounds of The Temple of Heaven in Beijing wearing last year's top. He will be at the 2009 swim visiting friends and family and collecting his new top and fifth swim medal.
Climbing on the 400-foot Via Ferrata, 'Grand Duc' in Evolene in the Swiss Alps are members of the Tenby 41 Club, 'The Amigos' - Anthony Mattick, Dave Randall, Giles Birt and Carl Evans, who tested out the sweat retardant material of the first year's top while being led by local mountaineering guide and photographer, Alun Richardson.
Anyone wishing to purchase one of the 2009 swim shirts can order them via Evans Newsagents, Saundersfoot. All profits will be donated to Breast Cancer Wales, but hurry because the last ordering day is Sunday!
