Saundersfoot Community Council has given a boost to the local library service at the Regency Hall.
Councillors are happy to share news that they’ve increased their donation to Saundersfoot Library to help them grow and offer even more to the community.
“Saundersfoot Library is pretty special – it’s one of the few in the county that’s run almost entirely by volunteers. We're keen to help keep it open and thriving for both locals and visitors. It’s such a valuable service, one that is much appreciated by those who use it,” said a spokesperson for the Community Council.
“And it’s not just about borrowing books! The library also offers photocopying, computer access, a selection of magazines and newsletters to read (including ours!), loads of useful local information and even food waste bags for collection.”
The library is also being used for the Welsh Conversation group that has recently been set up on Wednesday mornings, for Saundersfoot in Bloom meetings and there are plans for the library to open to the public on Mondays in the future.
Cllr Alec Cormack, Chair of Saundersfoot Community Council, said: "We’re really keen to support the library in any way we can – it’s such a fantastic asset for the village. We hope this extra funding will help it become even more useful and accessible to everyone."
Saundersfoot Library is run under the leadership of Regency Hall Trustees Averil Upham and Moira Saunders alongside Sam Woolley and Anita Thomas at Pembrokeshire County Council.
