ife has been very quiet this week. Perhaps it's just as well, given all 'The Manchester Sunshine' that has poured down upon us. Ultimately, the only game played was the friendly against Gloucester Spa. Despite Arctic conditions following on from the deluge of Sunday, the players seemed to enjoy themselves as they shivered on the green. Saundersfoot managed to edge home on all five rinks, with Paul Blayney taking the winning rink kitty. Sunday's games both succumbed to the rain. This week we are back to high activity: Today (Friday), 6 pm - Turn up and Bowl. Club coaches are on hand to help any bowler, or prospective bowler to hone their skills on the green. Sunday, 2 pm - A friendly match against Swansea/ Salisbury. Monday, 10.30 am - Jubilee Pairs. An inter-club competition. Tuesday, 2 pm - Saundersfoot Ladies take on Pembroke Dock in the county championship. Wednesday, 6 pm - Saundersfoot men bid to overcome old rivals Pembroke Dock in the county championship. A needle match, with the champion's title likely to be won at the end of the season by one of these two clubs. Friday, June 2, 6 pm - Club night. Turn up and bowl, followed by a number of social activities. Our list of coaches grows. John Roberts has completed his intermediate coaching badge. Congratulations to him on being one of the few at this level in the county. Next week there will be more to report before I fly off for some R and R in the heat of Greece. Phoenix
