The wedding took place at Deer Park Baptist Church, Tenby, on a glorious day between sailors William (Bill) Dowell and Nan D'Ortez. The groom, chief engineer for Angelus International, is the son of Michael and Molly Dowell, of Worcester, while the bride, a teacher at Tenby Junior School, is the daughter of Hedy and Robin D'Ortez, of Kilgetty. Escorted proudly to the church by her eldest son Sonny, and then given away by her father, the bride looked radiant in a beautiful scarlet, diamante fronted Italian dress. The bridesmaid, daughter Hattie, wore a lovely matching scarlet dress, and was accompanied by flower girl, Clarisse. Tommy D'Ortez (son) and Elliot Doney were ushers and Graham Doney was best man. The reception was held at the Redberth Lodge, where magnificent cakes were cut in both chocolate and fruit made by Mina Doney. The couple honeymooned in Madeira and will be making their homes in both Penally and Worcester.
