Royal British Legion members and Poppy Appeal organisers were at Sainsbury’s, Tenby, on Saturday, for this year’s Poppy Appeal launch. As each year, our fantastic cadets were at various locations around the town.
The Air Training Corps, The Army Cadets and The Sea Cadets will be present for each weekend prior to Sunday, November 12, for the Armistice and Remembrance parade and services.
Poppy Boxes are also available at prominent shops, post offices, schools and stores around Tenby and the surrounding villages.
Would all organisations please collect your wreaths from the De Valence, Tenby, by Friday, November 10, leaving the cheques at the office made payable to The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, with your organisation name on the back for record keeping requirements.
Again, if anyone are interested in taking over the volunteer role of being the Poppy Appeal organisers from November 2018, please contact me on (01834) 814142 for details and anyone needing other related information.
Grateful thanks from Tenby Royal British Legion branch representatives, Gordon Prime, president, Graham Phillips, secretary, Christopher Morris, chairman, and Tony Webster, vice-chairman, and the Poppy organisers.
The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal for November 2016-October 2017 increased to £12,200 for Tenby (KGA21 area). Thanks to everyone who contributed in any way, despite the ongoing financial austerity measures. Our areas also include the outlying villages of New Hedges, St. Florence, Manorbier, Jameston and Penally. Countrywide, the increased total was over £44 million.
