A former Saundersfoot resident returned to her roots recently as part of her 90th birthday celebrations.
Rosa Pegler's three children planned the perfect present as a birthday gift to their mother arranging for her to stay at the Gower Hotel in the village, where she used to reside.
At the time she married the late Steve Pegler on October 16, 1941, the premises was Rosa's family home, where her parents - Tom and Winnie Howells, maintained the orphanage.
Steve and Rosa made their own family home at Rose Cottage, Clayford, where their three daughters Pat, Jeanne and Jill were born.
The Pegler family left Pembrokeshire to move to Gloucestershire in 1952, where Rosa currently lives in Cirencester.
Rosa has always maintained close links with Saundersfoot, the surrounding area, and Ebenezer Chapel at Cold Inn and said she was very grateful to her daughters for such a thoughtful gift.
