A HORSE rider from Kilgetty has just jumped into the British Dressage Regional Finals to be held in Cheshire in August.
Twenty-four-year-old Stef Dando-Jones, of Ryelands Lane, and her seven-year-old grey gelding horse Bellevue Irish Pride had to win two classes gaining a 65 per cent or over score to qualify for the event.
The duo also recently took part in the semi-finals of the Hickstead International Dressage competition where they finished second, meaning that they have also secured a place at the finals in Hickstead on July 25.
Stef, who works full-time for Natwest Bank, has been riding since she was a child and is being trained by Glenys Hemming, who holds regular clinics at Moor Farm.
She is a member of West Wales Riding Club and this year competed at the riding club finals in Hartpury in April and has achieved numerous double wins in recent competitions.
Her horse, Bellevue Irish Pride, was bred in Ludchurch by Isobel Scourfield.
"I would like to say a massive thank you to Isobel for all her support, along with my mother and father-in-law Byron and Betty Mansell for letting me use their facilities and horse lorry," said Stef.
"My parents have shown me a lot of support over the years and my trainer has put in so much hard work too," she added.
