With the new football season now in full swing, the United Kingdom Independent Football Federation (UKIFF) is offering referee courses to football enthusiasts in Tenby.

UKIFF have hundreds of affiliated leagues nationwide, including those in Tenby.

The course offers anyone interested the chance to train at a leisure centre local to them on a weekly basis. Once fully inducted, referees receive a certificate and badge to show they have taken part in the course. They are then able to officiate at games at a league local to them on a permanent basis earning themselves a minimum of £10 per hour.

UKIFF spokesman, Olly Hitchcox, commented: "Our number of affiliated leagues is expanding all the time across the UK and Ireland, so it is vitally important that we are regularly training new referees to officiate at the leagues. After all, if it wasn't for the referees, then there would be no leagues for everyone to play in."

Once referees are fully inducted, the support doesn't stop there. Olly went on to say: "We provide our referees with all the equipment they need to officiate at the leagues and have a very tight discipline structure where by we back our refs 100 per cent on every decision they make."

The UKIFF training programme will be taking place right throughout the summer at venues all over the country, including those in Tenby, and is open to anyone with a keen interest in football.
