The summer holidays are nearly here, which means a jam-packed six weeks for both children and parents. That's why at Heatherton Country Park they make every effort to provide a great day out for the whole family. This year they are introducing a new challenge to add fun and excitement to the summer 'Record Breaking Day', which will be taking place every Friday through out the summer holidays, in the hope of raising money for local charities. These records are feasible for everyone and this adds to the fun of taking part to be named the Heatherton Record Breaking Champion. All participants will receive a certificate as recognition of their effort and determination. The person with the best performance will obtain a trophy, to reward their skills and efforts. The first Record Breaking Day will be held on Friday, July 27, when the park will be hosting the 'Water Filled Welly Wanging' record. This has been a popular and entertaining competition since 1986, with championships throughout the UK annually. Each competitor will be given a welly full of water, and sitting on a stool, they will be required to throw the welly backwards over their head with the aim of throwing it further than their competitors. A fee of £1 is required to take part and this will be donated to local charities every week. So go along to Heatherton and embark on the challenge to be entered into the 'Heatherton Book of Records'. Children and adults alike can enjoy the new 'Record Breaking Days' along with the excellent range of activities on offer around the park.
