Penally School PTA cooked and sold over 1,700 Welsh cakes in Tenby recently to raise funds to buy new books and equipment for the school.
With Mrs. Page's rousing calls to the people of Tenby and visitors to buy "lovely 'ot Welsh cakes," people flocked to the stall and the cakes sold... well, like hot cakes!
A substantial amount of money was raised and the PTA wishes to express their thanks in particular to Watkins Bakery, of Begelly, for stepping in at the last minute to mix the dough, Kiln Park, Londis, The Jazz and Tenby Rugby Club.
Thanks also go to staff and pupils of the school for ingredient donations and for helping out on the day to make the event such a success.
