More than a bus load of 31 members from Pembrokeshire Ramblers met last Saturday for a walk which started at Broadhaven, with firstly a bus ride to Newgale.
There were no other passengers already on the bus when it arrived at Broadhaven, but there were too many for the little 21-seater 'Coastal Cruiser', and so two car-loads had to drive to Newgale.
No doubt the bus company was glad of the trade in the middle of winter, even if most of the group used their free bus passes.
From Newgale, the task was to walk the five or six miles back to Broadhaven along the coast path, starting with the long stretch of beach.
As the tide was high, the group had to walk along the top of the shingle ridge, which was rough going.
The lunch stop was at Nolton Haven and the walk finished in mid-afternoon, in good time for some to get to watch the Six Nations.
The following Saturday (February 20), there will be a medium walk (six to nine miles) starting at 10.30 am, meeting near Blackpool Mill. For further details, ring Vanessa on 01646 680497.
