The Quins put the disaster of their previous league match against Fishguard firmly behind them with a hard fought win against Neyland in the Pembrokeshire KO Cup.

The Quins opened the scoring after five minutes when Simon Coleman charged round the blind side to score a try, but Neyland soon hit back with a penalty from Mark Riley.

A penalty from in front of the posts by Neil Brace restored the advantage for the visitors as they turned around 8-3 to the good at half-time.

The second half started with the Quins well on top and they soon stretched their lead with a try from prop Aidan Baines, converted by Brace, to make it 15-3

The hosts hit back, however, with a try from Mark James after a break by Delme Bateman.

The Quins had the last word, though, when, following a quickly taken penalty, Sam Irwin scored in the corner two minutes from time to secure a fine victory.

The Quins will now face the winners of the Haverfordwest/Crymych tie away in the next round.
