Sir,
I read with interest that the planning department has for eight weeks been having talks with Pembrokeshire National Parks regarding the siting of the civic amenities centre (rubbish dump) next to Brooklands.
Clr. Rob Lewis stated, when the application is submitted the public can make comments.
Where have they all been for the last four months. The public have made their views quite clear and 4,500 of them have put their names to those views. Clr. Richard Brown denied any agreement had been made with Pembrokeshire National Parks, but many agree with Ken Fryer's (Tenby Observer, October 26) view that they have made their minds up already. Clr. Rowlands fought hard to prevent a tip being put in his back yard, and that was certainly not even close to as undesirable as this awful prospect at Brooklands.
We need planners to work to protect our environment not make worse.
They might have made it sound like a leisure centre, but they don't have decontamination areas and huge tanks to catch toxic run-off. It's still a rubbish dump.
D. Burnell,
Pentlepoir.
