A popular Tenby pub in the centre of the town has elected to close to the public for 14 days whilst staff self-isolate after one member tested positive for Covid-19.

Tenby House Hotel located in Tudor Square have stated today (Friday, October 2) that its ‘staff and customers’ safety’ was of the utmost priority so they have decided to place the pub itself under quarantine.

“Even with all our stringent safety measures in place it is unfortunate that we have had a confirmed case of Covid 19 within our team,” stated a post on the establishment’s Facebook page.

“As we have found no official guidance we have decided to close for the length of time that the government recommends for any individuals coming into close contact with a person that has tested positive - we have closed from today for 14 days.

“Although not all staff have been asked to self isolate by the government’s track and trace scheme we have requested that our staff members do this in good faith to help reduce the spread and transmission of coronavirus. This is both to ensure that no-one else in the workforce becomes ill and also to ensure the public’s safety.

“We hope you will understand our decision and that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back soon to Tenby House.

“Please rest assured there is no Covid outbreak at Tenby House. We haven’t been asked or told to close by the Public Protection Team - they advised it was not necessary to close - we have made this decision as we are a small crew and think it is the safest thing for us all to isolate just in case. We have made the decision for the safety of our Team.” they added.
