Wales is about to change. Whether for better or worse is up to us when we vote in a new Government on May 5.
Public meetings have been organised in Pembrokeshire towns to look at the possibilities.
When national and international issues are top of the news, especially the EU referendum, it is easy to forget the importance of the Welsh election. What Welsh parties think of immigration, the EU, defence and nuclear power will make no difference as these are not devolved matters. What their plans are for health, education, roads, planning, social care etc make all the difference as they are devolved.
Vicky Moller, Plaid Cymru regional candidate, has organised public meetings to discuss the possibilities in towns around Pembrokeshire.
“I want to share our plans. Who gets in matters, but having an educated active public is even more important,” says Vicky.
“If we are to transform our area in difficult times, if we are to do this thing, it has to be a joint effort. Who knows, we could be the county to pilot new ideas like the local electronic currency to enrich local businesses or community grids to use our own clean power. We need to restore mother and children services to Withybush. When that happens it will be because of community empowerment.”
The first ‘Future on Offer’ meeting is at the Angel Inn, Narberth High Street, March 24, 4-5 pm. Others are in Cardigan, Newport, Fishguard, Haverfordwest and St. Davids.
There are longer in-depth meetings on our health service on April 1 and on Refugees and Wales on April 15.
