Sir, According to Tenby's Mayor, Clr. Sue Lane, 'Tenby has been rooting for John Kerry' in the recent US Election. Speak for yourself, Mrs. Lane, not for me or, I suspect, others. On the face of it, it is worrying that Tenby has a council which believes that the main qualification for the leader of the most powerful nation on earth is a connection with Tenby and Wales. If this is true, it displays the most narrow parochialism, not to say nationalism. The truth, of course, is that the council, supposedly full of political 'Independents' is actually anti-Bush and anti-Iraq war. Mrs. Lane, you looked as charming as ever in your photo-call by the postbox, but I am afraid that, metaphorically, your political slip was showing!
