Police in Tenby are warning members of the public to be wary of a Spanish lottery fraud that is being promoted locally.

The warning comes after an elderly female was approached recently.

"In this case, the person was invited to pay monies in advance of receiving the bogus win," explained a police spokesperson.

"Canvassing in this matter took the form of letter and telephone calls," the spokesperson continued. "It is advised that members of the public do not part with cash and banking information to unknown or dubious sources," the spokesperson added.
