Police are investigating following a robbery at a betting shop in Tenby. At about 3.38 pm on Monday, a cashier was behind the counter at Corals Betting Shop, Upper Frog Street, when a man entered the shop and approached the counter to place a bet on the dog race which was due to start at 3.40 pm. "He handed the cash and betting slip to the cashier who then proceeded to count the money and issue a betting slip receipt," explained a police spokeswoman. "The race is believed to have commenced and seconds later this man reached over the counter and grabbed the cashier by the wrist," the spokeswoman continued. "She pulled back in an attempt to get away from his grip. He then leaned over with the other arm and snatched the same money initially handed over, away from the cashier and ran out into Upper Frog Street." His direction of travel is unknown at this time. The offender is described as white, aged in his early 20s, clean shaven, tall and of thin build with short mousey coloured hair. He was wearing a pink or red coloured t-shirt. Anyone with any information in relation to this incident is asked to contact the town's police station on 0845 330 2000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
