Tenby and Tenby Rural Neighbourhood Policing Teams are appealing for parents help to stop anti-social behaviour.

Both teams have noticed an increase in anti-social behaviour on a Friday night.

PC Trish Dixon said: "Large groups are congregating and behaving in a loud and unreasonable way, thus creating an anti-social aura within the area.

"Working with our other police colleagues, we have managed to reduce anti-social behaviour, but the problem seems to be increasing again.

"I am appealing to the parents of children, particularly those under the age of 18, to be aware of the whereabouts of their children, especially on a Friday night, and to check their bags upon leaving the house.

"Youths carrying rucksacks are going to be targeted during the next few weeks in particular on a Friday night and anyone underage caught with alcohol will be spoken to by police and their details retained on record for the ASB officer to deal with.

"We are requesting support from parents and relatives of these youths because, ultimately, we want to keep them safe from any danger which the alcohol can undoubtedly put them in."

The police are also advising premises selling alcohol to be more vigilant in the next few weeks up to Christmas and to continue requesting identification and proof of age of customers.

Premises are reminded it is an offence to sell alcohol to these youths and the trading standards department, together with the police, will be targeting anyone found guilty of any offence involving alcohol.
