Town councillors have given the green light to move forward with an enhancement scheme of one of Tenby’s gardens.
Pembrokeshire County Council had previously proposed that the project to refurbish Battery Gardens that overlook the South Beach could all be achievable within a budget of between £20,000 and £25,000, if match-funded by the town council.
A recent meeting of the Tenby Town Regeneration Team discussed the project with PCC’s regeneration manager, Sinead Henehan, stating that the scheme would be budgeted at £20,500.
At Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, councillors agreed to put forward their contribution towards funding the project.
Another of the town’s gardens and play areas overlooking the South Beach will be temporarily closed from Monday to enable work to be carried out in building a retaining wall.
“Part of the Jubilee Play Park will be unusable whilst the work is carried out, but we will try to reopen it as soon as we can,” said the town clerk, Andrew Davies.
