This month marks 46 years since local councillor Mike Williams was elected to represent the residents of Tenby. To mark his exceptional service to the community and his immense commitment, Plaid Cymru has honoured him with an outstanding contribution award. He has served on many elected bodies and is currently the Plaid group leader on Pembrokeshire County Council. Commenting on the award, Plaid leader Leanne Wood AM said: "Mike has shown 46 years of commitment and hard work in representing the people of Tenby and Pembrokeshire, and he fully deserves national recognition for his outstanding contribution as a politician rooted in his community. His achievements are vast and we're all proud and grateful for his work." Party vice-chair, and former local AM Nerys Evans added: "Mike always strives to promote the interests of the people of Tenby and Pembrokeshire. He carries out his duties in a selfless manor and goes over and above what is required of the job. I've been fortunate to work with him over the last decade and seen how committed he is to his role, and look forward to many more years of seeing his achievements for the people of Tenby."
