The small black and white photograph was found by a workman under the floorboards in one of the science labs on the top floor of the school, when it was being refurbished.
"The only clue we have is that on the back the picture is written, 'Janet and me', and '6 Julians Street, Tenby'," said staff member, Mrs. Marilynne Scale.
"The writing is very faint, but we think we can also make out a date of 1970 on it as well.
"We are wondering if any Observer readers can identify the two youngsters and then we can return the picture," she added.
