President Mrs. Eleanor York is seen about to deliver the jack for the opening of the green on April 11.
The captain, Eric Davies, welcomed everyone to the opening and asked firstly for a minute's silence in respect of some longstanding club members who had regrettably died during the winter months.
Four mixed rinks then played a 12 ends game, before retiring for tea and sandwiches, and payment of members fees afterwards.
The club would welcome any new or established men or lady bowlers, boys and girls. The usual practice night is on a Wednesday evening from 6 pm, after which a light supper is usually available if needed at a very reasonable cost, when coaching and the like can be discussed.
The present band of members are from a wide area, from Tenby in the west, to Red Roses, Llanddowror and St. Clears to the north and Bancyfelin and Llanybri to the east.
The club is in the First Division of the Men's Pembrokeshire League and the ladies in the Pembrokeshire Double Rink League. There are also many friendly games played every week against principality clubs, as well as some 20 games or so against touring sides visiting West Wales over the summer and autumn months.
Join the club and enjoy bowling in the fresh open-air on the sea coast with like-minded people. It is a small club with enthusiastic members and a big heart. For further information ring the club captain and secretary, Eric Davies, after 5 pm, or at weekends tel. 01267 241637, or just turn up on a Wednesday evening and ask for assistance.
