Sir,

As a resident of Penally, I felt it was time to bring to the people of Tenby and surrounding areas the problems we locals are having in our beautiful village and coastal path.

Throughout the winter, South Beach is one of the few beaches open to dog owners. This to me is a privilege, for as a dog owner I don't have to walk or drive miles to see such beauty. Unfortunately, a log of dog owners do not feel the same way and constantly leave behind the remnants of their visit.

During one week I, myself, saw one person each day committing this offence and if the council were to put someone under cover to witness this I can assure them they wouldn't have to wait long. I myself have approached people and have received verbal abuse in response.

A lot of children use this pathway and some play ball along the way (including my two children). The amount of times their ball has gone into the grass and come out covered in dog mess is uncountable.

Secondly, we also have the pleasure of the Armed Forces practising their firing skills all over the weekend (this I suppose is a necessity). However, much to my dismay, last week, after their training session, I found that they had driven big trucks over to the firing range and kicked up all the grass on both sides of the path, churning it into muck and throwing it all over the path, where it was left!

Can you tell me sir that this is the action of disciplined individauls who obviously have no respect for other people's property or pleasure.

I would be interested to hear other people's views on this matter.

Keri Morgan,

Penally.
