An extraordinary meeting of Pembroke Probus Club took place on Tuesday, July 19, at Cleddau Bridge Hotel.
Members and ladies welcomed Killay Probus Club's (Swansea) members and their ladies to a joint luncheon; the first to take place in Pembroke Probus Club's 26 year history. It is hoped that this will be the first of many more such get togethers.
Following the induction of a new member, Jack Tindall, into the club, all 92 of those attending settled down to a fork buffet.
When all had been suitably fed and watered, a very tall member of Killay in the form of David G. Vaughan, a well-known raconteur, delivered a very short witty address which kept the company in stitches with his merry stand up comic delivery of dry humour.
The next luncheon meeting of Pembroke Probus Club will be held on Tuesday, August 2, at Cleddau Bridge Hotel.
Future events held for members and friends include a visit to the National Arboretum in Staffordshire on September 15/16; a poems and pints evening at Pembroke Dock Cricket Club in October (date to be announced); and a Christmas grand draw and quiz at Pembroke Dock Golf Club on Friday, December 16.
