Sir, What has Tenby got against visitors? We, two pensioners, visited just before Christmas having been advised to visit the harbour. On entering the main square, the harbour road was closed and cars and vans were double parked. My wife, who is partly disabled, wanted a toilet. There was a parking space with a partly obliterated disabled sign on the road which I took to be decommissioned. On returning, the car was ticketed after two minutes. Parking is a shambles here. On the other side there was double yellow lines merging into faint single lines, with a 30-minute waiting sign on the pavement. We asked where we could park and was told by the walls, which was loading only. We were then told there was off-street parking, which was residents only. I contacted the police, stating the semi-obliterated sign was surely a reason for cancelling the ticket, but was told it stood and that the council was responsible for road signing and I should contact them. This is not on, as, a) I had no address, and b) the council may not reply within the grace period accorded by the police. I hope this is not typical of Welsh hospitality. I have cancelled a booking for Tenby in March and have booked elsewhere in England.
