PICTURED is budding journalist Anna Fonge, who recently spent a week on work experience at the Observer.
Fifteen-year-old Anna, a pupil at Carmarthen's Bro Myrddin School, spent the week shadowing reporters on various assignments and assisting the advertising staff and was on hand to see all aspects of the 'paper's production.
Anna, of Nantgaredig, is currently studying for her GCSEs and hopes to pursue a career in journalism.
"English is one of my favourite subjects and that is one of the reasons I would like to become a reporter," said Anna.
"I enjoy writing and I am also interested in politics, so journalism would be ideal because it could involve both.
"I am still not 100 per sure about my future career, but spending a week at the Observer has me more inclined to pursue journalism."
A talented musician, Anna pays both the 'cello and the clarinet and is a member of several orchestras and groups in the Carmarthen area. She also loves cats and in her spare time enjoys listening to music and reading.
Anna's dad, Jerry, is a geography teacher, while her mum is a hotel receptionist.
